People with hoarding disorder excessively save items that others may view as worthless. They have persistent difficulty getting rid of or parting with possessions, leading to clutter that disrupts their ability to use their living spaces.

Habits that can save you:

  • Don’t keep more than a certain number of anything. Example: 20 books max.
  • Sell unused items in the house on eBay. Make money and remove clutter.
  • Remove items in the home that do not have an active current purpose.
  • Don’t purchase things the same day, this eliminates compulsive buying.

Hoarding is something that can creep up on you. If you have any space in your home that has clutter you may be at risk for future hoarding.
