Remember When We Designed Playgrounds To Hurt Children So That Cars Wouldn’t Kill Them

There was a time in the U.S. when most car accidents involved children. This mostly happened because they were playing next to, or in, streets.

The solution to this growing problem was to create a place where children could play.

This allowed for the creation of municipal playgrounds.

But what did we make?

  • Sharp Edges
  • Unreasonable heights
  • Strangle Gaps
  • Fall Hazards

Are playgrounds better now or were they better back then?

    Those playgrounds look horribly dangerous! These days they are much better designed.
