Fictional Book “Beyond the Spectrum”
In Robertson’s 1914 novel Beyond the Spectrum, he detailed a future war between the United States and Japan. In his fictional account, the war commences with a December surprise military strike against Hawaii and later involves the use of immensely powerful “Ultraviolet” superweapons that inexplicably set ships aflame, blinded sailors, and crisped their skin like a sunburn.
Where this gets strange:
Historical Event “Pearl Harbor”
In a real 1941 historical event, there was a war between the United States and Japan. In the historical account, the war commences with a December surprise military strike against Hawaii and later involves the use of immensely powerful “Nuclear” superweapons that set ships and buildings aflame, blinded people, and burn their skin like a sunburn.
A Nuclear Weapon releases large amounts of electromagnetic radiation in the visible, infrared, and ultraviolet regions of the electromagnetic spectrum. The chief hazard of thermal radiation is the production of burns and eye injuries in exposed personnel. Absorption of thermal radiation may lead to fires.
Where this goes far beyond strange:
Morgan Robertson also wrote another fictional book called “THE TITAN” published in 1898 that provided detailed information 14 years in advance about a real ship named “THE TITANIC” that sank in 1912. You can learn more here if needed from an earlier article I published.
Morgan Robertson provided a fair amount of rare insight with the following:
“As to the motif of my story, I merely tried to write a good story with no idea of being a prophet. But, as in other stories of mine, and in the work of other and better writers, coming discoveries and events have been anticipated. I do not doubt that it is because all creative workers get into a hypnoid, telepathic and percipient condition, in which, while apparently awake, they are half asleep, and tap, not only the better informed minds of others but the subliminal realm of unknown facts.Some, as you know, believe that in this realm there is no such thing as Time, and the fact that a long dream can occur in an instant of time gives color to it, and partly explains prophecy.” — Morgan Robertson

In the zone we’d just be rehashing whatever’s in in the timeline I suppose. Interesting. There’s nothing original that hasn’t at least happened in the past future.

Interesting. But I’m curious as to the source for that quote. Because a Time article (http://newsfeed.time.com/2012/04/14/author-predicts-titanic-sinking-14-years-earlier) contains the following blurb:

My Response — Robertson had multiple statements showing that he didn’t believe he had any special powers or abilities.
BUT
He believed that writers could do the following from a statement he gave to the poet, Ella Wheeler Wilcox, best known for her phrase, “Laugh, and the world laughs with you; weep, and you weep alone”

And then there is the strange case of him writing about future events in three successive works with remarkable accuracy.
I myself research unstructured data and it’s relation to future events.
I am more interested in the data provided by these writers rather than the guesswork on how they are obtaining it but to be honest I came to a similar conclusion long before I heard his explanation. See my notes below if you are interested.
