AKA: “The Corpse Flower”, the largest unbranched inflorescence in the world.
It can reach up to 20 ft tall and over 300 lbs. It consists of many flowers that look like a large petal. It also disguises the inside of the petal as a piece of exposed flesh. The look and smell of a dead animal are designed to attract carcass-eating insects to help with pollination.
The plant goes dormant for about four months at a time.


Yep. We have one that blooms here in NC. “I” don’t want to smell it. I’ve heard/read of it making people nauseated. Not my idea of fun.
