The name of the new religion is Jediism.

They have been a legal religion in the United States since 2007 and tax exempt since 2015.
Jediism is based on the Jedi characters in the movie series “Star Wars”
They follow the Jedi code, consisting of 21 maxims, as the starting point for the Jedi belief system.
The Jedi Code:
- Emotion, yet Peace.
- There is no Emotion, there is Peace.
- Ignorance, yet Knowledge.
- There is no Ignorance, there is Knowledge.
- Passion, yet Serenity.
- There is no Passion, there is Serenity.
- Chaos, yet Harmony.
- There is no Chaos, there is Harmony.
- Death, yet the Force.
- There is no Death, there is the Force.
- The 21 Maxims
- Prowess: To seek excellence in all endeavors expected of a Jedi.
- Justice: To always seek the path of ‘right’.
- Loyalty: To have faith in your Jedi brothers and sisters.
- Defense: To defend the way of Jediism.
- Courage: To have the will.
- Faith: To trust in the ways of the Force.
- Humility: To accept the ego for what it is.
- Fearlessness: To have no self-imposed limits.
- Nobility: To act with honour.
- Honesty: To avoid lies.
- Pure Motive: To act with motive and purpose.
- Discipline: To let the self be sole master of the self.
- Focus: To select what matters most.
- Discretion: To become invisible.
- Meditation: To exercise the mind.
- Training: To know one’s ignorance.
- Integrity: To be consistent.
- Morality: To know the danger of belief.
- Conflict: To know when to fight.
- Intervention: To know when not to act.
- Harmony: To be connected to the Force.
Real people all over the world are serious about this religion but are you?
People are searching for God in all the wrong places. The Bible teaches, “This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord” (Jeremiah 23: 16). And again, “My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations” (Ezekiel 13: 9). And finally, “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great wonders to deceive even, if possible, the elect” (Matthew 24: 24). Jesus alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14: 6).

There are about 35% of the worlds people that need to cling to something outside themselves. Eric Hoffer called them the true believers. Founders of mass movements love them. I could see this as religion fails in modern society that people will cling to something. That creed almost sounded like a gang creed. Boy, if we ever found a space alien race I could see the force really getting traction. The idea was really cool when I was a kid. and sort of Mormon in philosophy. Yuk.

I think the numbers are much higher because I don’t think they want to cling to anything I think 80% or better of the human race likes to be addicted to something. Religion is just one of many forms of addiction.
But hey what do I know I’m just a Christian 😉

Studies show about 35% are true blue, 35 just go along with the masses, and 30 are bouncing around or would be atheist/agnostic if there was no stigma

Let’s add 1% that don’t play by any of these standards. We can take it from the ones that just follow the masses, they won’t cry foul.

🙂 Most interesting. I would have never guessed that Jediissm has been a legal religion since 2007.
The Jedi Code and the 21 maxims seem fair.
Fantastic post!
