We are talking about when four or more people, not including the shooter, are injured or killed in the same shooting incident.

Statistically we are looking at another 100 Mass Shootings before the end of 2019 and at least 2 to 4 that will make the front page and headline news.

A Sample of the larger shootings:

17 killed and 17 Injured – February 14, 2018 – A former student unleashes a hail of gunfire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, killing at least 17 adults and children. Nikolas Cruz, 19, has been charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder.

13 killed and 2 Injured – November 7, 2018 – Twelve people are killed in a shooting at the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California. Officials say, the gunman, Ian David Long, shot an unarmed security guard outside the bar, then went in and continued shooting, injuring other security workers, employees and patrons.

11 killed and 7 Injured  – October 27, 2018 – Eleven people are killed in a shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA. 46-year-old Robert Bowers surrendered to authorities on the third floor of the building and is now facing federal charges, including hate crimes. Bowers told a SWAT officer while receiving medical care that he wanted all Jews to die and that Jews “were committing genocide to his people,” a criminal complaint filed in Allegheny County says.

10 Killed and 13 Injured – May 18, 2018Dimitrios Pagourtzis, 17, allegedly walks into an art class and begins firing, killing 8 students and 2 teachers at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, Texas. Pagourtzis is arrested and charged with capital murder and aggravated assault of a public servant.

1 Killed and 19 Injured – June 17, 2018 TRENTON, N.J.  — Gunmen opened fire at an all-night arts and music festival early Sunday morning, sending people running over each other in the scramble to safety, authorities said. One suspect was killed and 22 people, including two suspects, were injured.

2 killed, 17 Injured – Jan. 23 in shooting at Marshall County Kentucky High School. Gabe Parker, a student at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky, is accused of killing two 15-year-old classmates and wounding 17 others with gunfire on Jan. 23. 1. Those are bullshit statistics. No verifiable proof that most even took place.

    • The opposite is true. Each shooting is fully documented with all the names of those involved. Fully linked to the location, police, news reports, etc.

I’m not sure why you made that statement since I put the link right there in the article.

I myself looked over several of the reports and crosslinks. They have done a fantastic job of providing far more information than even the police do.

      • The title mass shooting in itself is a fraud. These “reports” are highly inaccurate and quite deceiving to the lay person.

          • They replace gang violence with the title mass shooting. They remove the fact that most of these “shootings” were amongst criminals.

It’s all wordplay designed to fool.

            • You stated — “They replace gang violence with the title mass shooting.”

My response — You are incorrect. Mass shooting is a term to describe an incident involving gun violence incidents not who participated in the shooting.

I myself took the time to directly read some of the highly detailed reports they provide on the link that is clearly there in the article. I found some that were gang related, mental illness, and terrorist attacks.

I don’t have a bias since I don’t have a position on guns. It seems to me that you are making blanket statements before reviewing the information they provide.

            Now that’s just plain nefarious.

My response — I never said that and this article doesn’t say that. I can’t answer a claim I didn’t make.

You clearly have not taken the time to review the links in this article. If you had you would have seen that gangs are clearly listed .

My response — You are applying your bias to their data. They categorized each shooting by “Date” “Location” and the number of people killed or injured.

It’s simply raw data. Each shooting has a link to the report that clearly lists all the involved people “Gang”, “Terrorist”, “Domestic” etc

You are making false claims about what they are presenting and then conflating personal bias with agenda.

                    • They blame the gun instead of the person in the title. Why title something like that? Because they know the majority of people simply read the title.

Sure, they may go into more specifics the more anyone reads, but why make the title “mass shootings” then? Why not a more appropriate title for each separate incident?

Who decided the criteria for “Mass Shootings” how did 4 people suddenly become a mass?

                      You know it’s propaganda Lander.

                    • Then why are there only Mass Shootings in America when it happens in other parts of the world it is referred to as mass murder or terrorism?

You’re exactly right. It doesn’t blame anyone. It blames the thing that shoots.

My response — It’s not mass murder since not everyone is killed, that part seems obvious. Also it’s not mass murder if the person is mentally ill (not sure why on that one but it’s a legal thing in America)

We will have to agree to disagree on this one.

My response — The actual “Mass Shooting” category has not been agreed on universally

The government in most cases has decided on 3 people killed as a “Mass Shooting”

This source is popular with data pooling and they decided to have a stronger number but also add wounded people rather than just killed. So they went with a higher number of 4 not the recommended 3.

Our mission is not confined to the debate on gun rights vs gun regulations, it is equally focused on understanding crime at a street level, providing crime statistics broken down to the Congressional District, State legislator district level.”

My question — If your statement is accurate then show me what they are selling. I would like to see the evidence of your claim.

I have the evidence of theirs.

We can’t make the world “Child Safety Proof”. People are going to have to take responsibility for their own ability to critically think.

We need more thinkers not mor PC wording.

                    • It’s just a way to put a label on everyone since mental health is over diagnosed and convict innocent people before they do anything.

Trends in people do not exist. I know we’ve talked about this before, but human behavior cannot be predicted exactly.

They want to disarm the public, they want to do away with the 2A. The way they do this is to convince everyone that they are safer without guns.

Another note is that “Shootings” or “mass shootings” are also not categorized for when police are the ones doing the shooting or when people defend themselves with a gun.

It’s all propaganda Lander, meant to deceive and confuse.

They know they cannot simply do a gun grab. So instead they spread propaganda to convince people to give up their own rights.

Once the 2A is gone the 1A will follow. More violence happens through inspiration than from the barrel of any gun.

                    • You stated — “Ok, so then the state is promoting this then.”

My response — No. It’s a fact of reality not a statement of agenda.

Datya is not designed to assign blame only to provide information. You would have to apply bias to make a claim.

I could use this exact data to decide where to live in America that would be best for children to avoid gun violence.

That’s the advantage of knowing versus fearing. To fear information and demand that the thought police be deployed is a PC failure.

You want to burn the books to protect the people.

Try making better people who can read without becoming sheeple.

You seem able to read the article with no major brain damage. How is it you can do things you fear others can’t?

Why do you feel the need to filter information for others that you can clearly survive reading?

Look it comes down to this. If you don’t like people and wording then should we then assign a Dept. to filter all words through them before the public can read it?

You know that blaming words is not a path to freedom.

                    • Propaganda and confusion are the first steps towards state control. Whether in China, Venezuela, Germany, France, the EU, the old Soviet Union and the present Russia. The model is the same, from healthcare to guns.

All they say is safety, when in fact the world will never be safe as long as people inhabit it.

We are not insulated from human behavior in America, yet some think that we should.

Never forget, laws are for the law abider. Like how a lock only keeps an honest person honest. The laws and regulations are never meant for the criminal.

Do you know what the number of deaths and murders by people driving automobile were over the years? The number far outweighs any kind of “gun violence” as you like to say.

Where is the data or conversation about that? All of the deaths that have occurred due to autonomous vehicles is also avoided in the attempt to legitimize them.
