There are a number of women around the world and in the US that are continuing to breastfeed children well past the age of 5 and in some very rare occasions even up to the age of 13.

They argue that it provides a more healthy and well-adjusted child. They also state that it’s a natural process and provides bonding between the child and the mother. They have a mindset to only stop when the child no longer requests to feed or they stop producing milk.
There are more moms nursing long-term than you might realize, as kids get older, nursing is usually done at home, not in public. That’s why you don’t see it. Right or wrong, it’s a growing trend.
