Suicide Game For Children Promoted On A Childrens TV Network

There is a game named, ” 5 Minutes To Kill (Yourself)” marketed on the Cartoon Network.

The premise behind 5 Minutes To Kill (Yourself) is purely sick and twisted. Your character is an office worker who would rather commit suicide than attend another meeting. Walking around the office, you are tasked with finding various ways to harm yourself and inflict enough trauma to end your life before the time limit is up.

The game begins with a simple tutorial of the various instruments around the office that can be used to inflict self-harm.

Do people really believe this game has no psychological impact on the young minds playing it?

I also made a special note from the promo above about one of the ways you could kill yourself, in the game, called, “This Guy,” who apparently, from what I could gather in the promo, is just a black character that goes around killing you. This, in itself, raises a red flag but at this point, there were so many I lost count.

Adult Swim is the adult-oriented nighttime programming block of an American children’s cable network.

A block of time from 8PM to 6AM is carved out for adult-themed content. My guess is that children are continuously monitored by the parents so that the moment 8PM arrives they quickly whisk them away from the television to ensure they don’t see any adult content.

Shows may have sexual themes, frank sexual discussion, nudity, strong language, and graphic violence; in other words, programs that would be deemed inappropriate if aired during the day on Cartoon Network, when children would be watching.

  1. That is fuktup! Thanks for keeping an eye on this stuff. Sometimes it’s just too hard to look at the systemic degradation that’s currently happening to everything good about this life. I know hideous things are happening in the world & I can only take little sips of awareness lest I get toxified and cynical!
Childhood is such a sweet time if one is provided with the protection of loving wise parents. I had them till I was 7. What can one do to stem the tide of evil that’s reaching out to poison their existence?

    • Education and networking is the key. As we share information we become more aware. Parents aren’t always in the room so they may have never seen this commercial. We can all be eyes on to help them out. The key to this story is “Adult Swim” that starts at 8PM on the children’s cartoon network. This wasn’t the worst thing they offer, it’s much worse than this.

  2. I don’t think children should learn quite so early that suicide might be an option—or fun or funny in some way. I definitely wouldn’t play this til after bedtime.

  3. Sounds strikingly like a game from the google play store called “kick the buddy.”

    Apparently, it’s called stress relief.

I don’t think so, and when I found it on my granddaughter’s tablet… well, lets just say, it’s been removed.
