Nemertea is a phylum of invertebrate animals also known as “ribbon worms”.

All species have a proboscis which turns inside-out to capture prey with venom. They then pull the proboscis back in when an attack ends.

Most nemerteans are carnivores. Some are hermaphroditic. The bodies of some species fragment and parts near the tail can grow full bodies.
