Beth is actually a victim of extreme child abuse and neglect who doesn’t have a coping tool to deal with the trauma she suffered from her biological parents. At the time, she could no longer relate to love or form normal social attachments with people.

She Was Diagnosed With Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD)

Intensive therapy managed to help Beth and she now leads a normal life. This is a story of success that proves, with the right therapy and care, mental health issues caused by abuse can be overcome.

Beth Thomas’s adoptive parents wanted to know why their adoptive daughter was displaying such violent behavior. However, when they asked the adoption agency for information, their request was denied. The agency cited confidentiality laws, making it difficult for Beth’s parents to determine the cause of their daughter’s behaviors.

The intensive behavioral medication and therapies she underwent changed the course of her life. Beth grew up to be a registered nurse and author of the book, More Than a Thread of Hope.
