What we experience; taste, touch, sight, hearing, and smell, is it real or a simulation? With all that we’ve seen and heard in the first 5 articles, the lines are starting to blur.

In a virtual world, simulation, or computer game, the rules can be suspended at any time. The rules and laws of reality are not set in stone like we believe in real life. Below are some of the rules that can be suspended within a simulated environment.

  • Pain can be ignored.
  • Health can be restored immediately.
  • Players can be attacked with no sign of damage.
  • Special powers are allowed.

Let’s compare the possibility of a computer reality to the real world.

In a virtual world, Pain can be ignored

Hypnosurgery is an operation where the patient is sedated using hypnotherapy rather than traditional anesthetics. Hypnosis for anesthesia has been used since the 1840s, pioneered by the surgeon James Braid. During hypnosurgery, the hypnotherapist helps patients control their subconscious reflexes so that they do not feel pain in the traditional sense. Patients are aware of sensation as the operation progresses and often describe a tingling or tickling sensation where the pain would normally be expected.

In a virtual world, health can be restored immediately

Lissa Rankin explores the implications that the placebo effect has over us. Case studies with over 3500 participants, who had all been diagnosed with an incurable disease like cancer, HIV, various heart diseases, etc. Through the placebo effect, the illnesses had all disappeared without treatment.

Lissa goes on to talk about a specific case about a man named Mr. Wright, who had been given drugs that he truly believed would cure his cancer. Within days his tumors shrunk to half their size! After a report was released stating the drug didn’t actually work, Mr. Wright’s cancer came back. His doctor sneakily told him that he had a higher quality version of the drug, and injected Mr. Wright with nothing more than water. Again, his tumors went away because he believed they would.

In a virtual world, players can be attacked with no sign of damage

Extraordinary footage of Mirin Dajo being stabbed right through his body with a sword. He became famous in the 1940s for piercing his body with swords and all other kinds of objects. Apparently, he did it without injury.

Extraordinary footage of a mother and child brutally ran over by a crashing vehicle without suffering any major damage.

In a virtual world, special powers are allowed

The world has accumulated millions of well-documented eyewitness accounts, of people demonstrating special abilities. Some of these include:

  • ESP
  • Hypnosis
  • Induced Healing
  • Levitation
  • Magic
  • Precognition
  • Probability Manipulation
  • Supernatural Strength
  • Telekinesis
  • Telepathy
  • Translucent Entities

Don’t take any of the items on this list lightly, here are some examples to get you started.

The capability of magic in public.

The power of Hypnosis to even change a person’s faith belief.

The ability in a high-speed chase to change the rules.

In Conclusion

This 6 part review of the many so-called glitches in the matrix has provided enough evidence to conclude that reality is acting strangely and that assigning words like coincidence will no longer suffice. We will need to upgrade our understanding of reality if we want to reconcile the known with the unknown.

“Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.”
Albert Einstein

“All perception is the result of electrical impulses in the brain – the world of the individual is tantamount to a highly advanced computer running and analyzing programs in its working memory.”
Kevin Michel

“There is no truth. There is only perception.”
Gustave Flaubert
